Rep. Brandon Markosek October 21, 2025 | 2:56 PM
TURTLE CREEK, Oct. 21 – State Rep. Brandon Markosek, D-Allegheny, joined Gov. Josh Shapiro and local officials today to celebrate Eos Energy Enterprises’ announcement to invest nearly $353 million to expand its existing battery manufacturing operations in Allegheny County and relocate its headquarters to Pittsburgh, creating and retaining 1,000 total jobs.
Eos currently operates two facilities in Turtle Creek, located in the 25th Legislative District that Markosek represents. The company manufactures American-made zinc-based batteries that support clean energy systems and domestic supply chains. A new, state-of-the-art automated production line was added in 2024 as part of the project’s initial phase.
“This investment is incredible news for our region, and especially Turtle Creek, where Eos has already been an important part of our local economy,” Markosek said. “This expansion shows real confidence in the people and potential of Western Pennsylvania. It means more jobs, more innovation and a stronger role for our region in the future of clean energy manufacturing.”
The project is supported by $22 million in state funding through the Department of Community and Economic Development and the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. The expansion will include additional manufacturing operations in Allegheny County and the relocation of Eos’ headquarters from New Jersey to Pittsburgh’s North Shore.
