Steele to assist with distributing smoke alarms to Natrona residents

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Oct. 27 – State Rep. Mandy Steele, D-Allegheny, will partner with the American Red Cross and Hilltop Hose Company No. 3 to distribute smoke alarms to Natrona residents Saturday afternoon.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, Steele, the American Red Cross, and Hilltop Hose Company No. 3 will distribute the smoke alarms. The American Red Cross and Hilltop Hose Fire Company No. 1 will install the smoke alarms. Residents may register by calling the American Red Cross at 412-263-5278.

“By partnering with the American Red Cross and Hilltop Hose Company No. 3, we will distribute smoke alarms, which can save lives,” Steele said.

Jeff Balog, fire chief of Hilltop Hose Company No. 3, said, “These smoke alarms will keep residents of Natrona safe and help firefighters keep the community safe. We are so thankful for this opportunity to partner with the American Red Cross and Rep. Steele.”

“Sound the Alarm is a rewarding way to give back and directly help local families,” said Jorge Martinez, CEO, American Red Cross of Greater Pennsylvania. “It’s a day of coming together to support one another, especially those most vulnerable to home fires. A working smoking alarm can be the difference between survival and tragedy — and as a community, we can help our neighbors stay safe by ensuring they have these lifesaving devices.”

As the state representative for the 33rd Legislative District, Steele continues to work to keep residents safe.
