More than $3 million awarded from PHFA’s Housing Options Program

24th Legislative District to receive than $3 million from Housing Options Program

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 13 – The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Authority awarded more than $3 million for projects in 24th Legislative District, state Rep. La’Tasha D. Mayes, D-Allegheny, announced today.

Grants from PHFA’s Housing Options Program fund the construction and preservation of affordable rental properties throughout Pennsylvania.

“Pittsburgh ranks as one of the most expensive cities in the U.S., and these grants will make it more affordable for residents of the 24th Legislative District to continue living here in our city,” Mayes said. “Thanks to these grants from PHFA’s HOP, we may make Pittsburgh a more affordable area to live.”

Local projects include:

  • $2.1 million to Pennley Commons Recapitalization for preservation.
  • $900,000 to African Queens Apartments for new construction.

Bry-Mard Apartments is also on the waitlist to receive $2.2 million for preservation.
