Community Budget Briefing Success!

Thanks to everyone who made time to come out to Victory Harvest Fellowship International on Thursday night for our Community Budget Briefing! It was an incredibly informative meeting about how the state budget impacts you, your family, and your community – and about how the multiple levels of government work together.

Next week, we’ll return to the Capitol for House Session throughout June as we work on the many elements that comprise the state budget.

I’m working in Harrisburg to ensure you can afford necessities like food, healthcare, and a roof over your head. As a caucus, we’re fighting to protect hardworking Pennsylvanians, ensure a quality education for all students, help you keep more of your hard-earned paycheck, and protect our most vulnerable neighbors. Your input will help inform our priorities as we move through the budget process in the weeks ahead.

If you were unable to be there in person, you can watch the recording on YouTube by clicking the graphic above.

Investing in In-Home Care Services

Video

I’m grateful for the opportunity to visit Sahum and his mom, Ardrena, and to see firsthand how Medicaid-funded in-home nursing care helps keep children with complex medical needs safe at home with their families. Families like theirs remind us why investing in skilled nursing services and supporting care workers is so important for communities across Pennsylvania.

PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Property Tax/Rent Rebate Deadline Extended

The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is now open for taxes or rent that you paid in 2025. This program provides a rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities while meeting certain household income requirements. In Philadelphia, supplemental rebates provide an additional $190 to $500 in relief to applicants with the most need.

These rebates have made it easier for older and disabled folks to stay in their homes while affording groceries, medicine, and so much more.

The deadline has been extended to December 31, but there’s no reason to wait!

Apply online today or contact one of my offices to find out if you qualify and let us help you apply!

State Grants Available

My office helps city officials and local organizations connect to state grants available to help them do their important work to improve our communities and the lives of residents. You can find a list of state grant programs that are currently open for application on my website. We update this list as new programs come online so check back often.
