Community Budget Briefing
|
One of my missions as a legislator is to inform you about how your government works for YOU. That’s why I’m co-hosting a Community Budget Briefing with House Appropriations Majority Chairman Jordan Harris, who represents Grays Ferry and other communities in South and West Philadelphia, at Victory Harvest Fellowship International located at 2536 South 59th Street on Thursday evening, May 28 beginning at 6 p.m.
This is a great opportunity for you to join the conversation and learn not just about the process, but also to let us know how you think we ought to spend the money in the state budget. I’m fighting in Harrisburg to ensure that you can afford necessities like food, healthcare, and a roof over your head. Your input will inform our priorities as we move through the budget process in the weeks ahead.
If you can’t be there in person, you can watch the livestream on YouTube by clicking the graphic above.

Join me next Saturday, May 30, for our spring shredding event! We’ll be at South Philadelphia High School at Snyder and Broad from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shredding your outdated documents is the best way to protect your identity and declutter your home. Bring up to two bags of financial documents, bank statements, utility bills, and anything containing your personal information to be safely and securely shredded and disposed of on-site. See you there!

PROGRAMS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Property Tax/Rent Rebate Deadline Extended
|
The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is now open for taxes or rent that you paid in 2025. This program provides a rebate ranging from $380 to $1,000 to eligible older adults and people with disabilities while meeting certain household income requirements. In Philadelphia, supplemental rebates provide an additional $190 to $500 in relief to applicants with the most need.
These rebates have made it easier for older and disabled folks to stay in their homes while affording groceries, medicine, and so much more.
The deadline has been extended to December 31, but there’s no reason to wait!
Apply online today or contact one of my offices to find out if you qualify and let us help you apply!

My office helps city officials and local organizations connect to state grants available to help them do their important work to improve our communities and the lives of residents. You can find a list of state grant programs that are currently open for application on my website. We update this list as new programs come online so check back often.
