Proposing Legislation to Support Treatment for Stimulant Use
|
Stimulant use disorders, which include cocaine and methamphetamine, continue to be a significant public health issue in Pennsylvania. Contingency management is an effective approach to treat this condition.
I am proud to partner with Rep. Jamie Flick on bipartisan legislation that would establish a grant program to support this evidence-based method to treat this difficult form of addiction.

Securing Money for Our Local Fire Companies
|
One of the most important parts of my job is bringing state money back to our district. I recently worked with Senator Devlin Robinson to make that happen for the Ohio Township Volunteer Fire Company. They will be receiving $340,276 in state funds towards their 2025 Rosenbauer Custom Pumper/Tanker.
As an ER Doc and legislator, I am committed to supporting our fire services and first responders to ensure they have the resources needed to serve all of us.

Standing up for Paid Medical Leave
|
As an ER doctor, I have the privilege of caring for all in their time of need. Every day I see the health, economic, and moral imperative to enact paid family leave for all Pennsylvanians. I'm proud to have joined advocates this week to call for the passage of the bipartisan Family Care Act. We must act now to protect all Pennsylvanians.
You can find my remarks in support of this legislation in the video above.

My staff and I were glad to assist nearly 300 of our neighbors at my community shredding event in Ohio Township last weekend! Thanks to everyone for coming out to protect themselves from identity theft and learn more about how my staff and I can help with state government services.

Policy Hearing on Acetaminophen and Autism
|
I joined Rep. Abigail Salisbury and the House Democratic Policy Committee for a hearing on acetaminophen, autism, and the dangers of misinformation coming from Washington and Health Secretary Kennedy.
As a physician-legislator, I am committed to making sure accurate scientific information comes to the public and informs our policymaking. Thank you to the testifiers, who are exemplary scientists and physicians, for their informative discussion.

Recognizing Our Outstanding Students
|
Six students from Hampton Township School District were named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program for their exceptional academic promise. These students ranked among the top 50,000 who entered the 2026 competition by taking the 2024 PSAT. Congratulations on your outstanding academic achievement!

We have also seen success from several local student athletes. The Boys and Girls Golf teams from North Allegheny and the Boys Golf team from Avonworth won their section championships and are heading to the WPIAL team championship. Congratulations, and best of luck!

Out at the Avon Club Fall Festival – and Other District Updates
|
My staff and I enjoyed meeting our neighbors at the Avon Club Fall Festival in Ben Avon. I was also grateful to join Borough leaders and Senator Wayne Fontana in dedicating a new elevator in the borough building for which the Senator and I were able to successfully obtain state grant funds.
Many thanks to the Avon Club members, Borough leaders, first responders, volunteers, vendors, and all the attendees for a great event.

I joined elected officials from the local, state, and federal level at AHN Wexford to learn how we can continue to support the McCandless-Franklin Park Ambulance Authority. Our emergency medical services are vital to our community, and I am proud to support them.
|
I had the privilege of joining with advocates across the region at the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Kidney Walk at Highmark Stadium.
As an ER Doc who has had the privilege to care for many patients with kidney disease, the son of a retired transplant nephrologist, and now a state legislator advocating for patients with kidney disease and promoting organ donation and transplantation, it was an honor to speak at this event and promote awareness of the great work being done by NKF and their volunteers and staff.
