Centre County to receive conditional award for EV charging station infrastructure

TA Operating LLC will receive $1.06 million from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program.

MILESBURG, Aug. 17 – Centre County will receive more than $1 million in conditional funding from the federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program, Rep. Paul Takac, D-Centre, announced today.

In the first round of conditional awards, TA Operating LLC, located at 875 N. Eagle Valley Road along Exit 158 of Interstate 80 in Milesburg, will receive more than $1 million in funding for planning, constructing, operating, and maintaining EV charging stations. FirstEnergy (West Penn Power) will serve as the electric utility partner for the EV charging sites.

“With more than $1 million in federal grant funding for EV charging stations in Milesburg, we continue to invest in the infrastructure needed to support a clean energy economy by making the transition from polluting, gasoline-powered vehicles to EVs easier,” Takac said. “Establishing more EV charging stations in Centre County and across the commonwealth will allow drivers that operate EVs to drive with greater ease and confidence, even when traveling through rural Pennsylvania.”

EVs not only help the environment but can also save Pennsylvanians money, he noted.

The NEVI Formula Program, established through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, awarded grants to 54 projects in Pennsylvania. Additional information on the projects is available here.
