The PHRC Wants to Hear From You!
The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC) is inviting public comments on proposed guidance explaining when the PHRC may consider it to be a reasonable accommodation for entities to provide Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) free or discounted admission, ensuring that individuals with disabilities have equal opportunity to participate in public life.
“Our goal is to provide clarity so individuals with disabilities can fully participate in public life—and to ensure the guidance reflects the lived experiences of those directly impacted,” said PHRC Executive Director Chad Dion Lassiter, MSW.
Public comments will be accepted through November 25, 2025, through an online survey.
Two virtual public meetings will also be held to gather feedback:
Wednesday, November 19 | 12:00–3:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 25 | 4:00–7:00 p.m.
Read the proposed guidance and share your feedback! Learn more here: http://pa.gov/.../policy-and-law/michael-s-law-guidance.html

Keystone Scholar Accounts
Pennsylvania families have a chance to give their children a strong start with a free $100 Keystone Scholars scholarship. If your child was born in 2019 or later (or adopted by a PA family), you can claim their account and begin growing savings that can be used for college, trade school, apprenticeships, and more when they turn 18.
Families can also open a PA 529 College and Career Savings account to grow alongside the Keystone Scholars starter money. With tax benefits, flexible options, and nearly 9 billion dollars already saved by PA families, it’s a simple way to plan for future education expenses. You can learn more here.

WIC Program
The PA Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) has improved the nutrition and health of families in the Commonwealth by providing nutrition services, breastfeeding support, health care and social service referrals, and healthy foods.

Applicants eligible for WIC must also meet certain income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk.
To apply for WIC, call the toll-free hotline of 1-800-WIC-WINS or get started online. Please contact my office if you need any assistance.
