Inglis, Pisciottano announce $205,000 for community improvements

Grants fund ballfield renovations, airport training equipment

WEST MIFFLIN, Nov. 18 – State Rep. John Inglis and state Sen. Nick Pisciottano announced that $205,000 in grant funding has been awarded to support projects in Dravosburg and West Mifflin.

“When we invest in our local infrastructure and workforce, we’re investing in the future of our region,” Inglis said. “These grants will help enhance community spaces and expand training opportunities, preparing people for high-demand careers. I’m grateful to see these tax dollars going toward improvements that will directly benefit my constituents.”

Inglis said project funding was awarded as follows:

  • $100,000 to Steel Rivers Council of Governments for parking lot improvements at the Dravosburg Ballfields.
  • $60,000 to Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Pittsburgh for renovations, including concrete repair, electrical work, basement walls and roofing.
  • $45,000 to Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics for the purchase of SimSpray Go simulators and training equipment for turbine engine removal and replacement.

“These grants are investments in our communities, and I’m proud to help bring these funds back to Allegheny County,” said Pisciottano. “From improving public facilities to supporting local job creation, GEDTF funding helps advance projects that make our region stronger and better prepared for future growth.”

The grants are sourced from the Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund, which is administered by the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County and funded through gaming revenues.
