HARRISBURG, June 2 – State Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock, D-Berks, announced that her bill to help schools update and strengthen their workforce training opportunities for students unanimously passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives today.
“Career and technical education gives students a direct pathway to good-paying, in-demand jobs, but our schools and institutions need the resources to keep pace with rapidly changing industries and technology,” Rusnock said.
House Bill 2425 would amend Pennsylvania’s Public School Code to establish the Career and Technical Education Curriculum Modernization Grant Program. The program would provide funding to career and technical centers, school districts, and intermediate units that offer CTE programs to help them update and modernize instructional curriculum.
“Pennsylvania students deserve access to modern, high-quality career and technical education programs that prepare them for the jobs of today and tomorrow,” Rusnock said. “My bill invests in our workforce pipeline, supports local employers and gives students the tools they need to succeed in high-demand fields.”
The bill now moves to the state Senate for consideration.
