Dukes takes oath of office to serve Pennsylvania's 12th Legislative District

HARRISBURG, Sept. 8 – Today, state Rep. Brandon Dukes was sworn in to serve as state representative for Pennsylvania’s 12th Legislative District, located in Butler County.
Dukes was elected to office when he won a special election on Aug. 18, becoming the first Democrat to represent the district in decades.
“I am so grateful to serve this district that I call home,” Dukes said. “I look forward to providing my fellow residents with crucial state government services and advocating for their needs here in Harrisburg. I’d also like to thank my fellow House lawmakers, who have welcomed me with open arms as we work toward a better commonwealth.”
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Dukes spent 16 years working in the financial industry prior to his election. He currently lives in Cranberry Township with his wife and daughter. Dukes said his key issues include modernizing infrastructure, prioritizing affordability and investing more resources in educational institutions such as community colleges and trade schools.

The 12th District consists of the townships of Cranberry, Adams and Jackson; as well as the boroughs of Callery, Evans City, Harmony, Mars, Seven Fields, Valencia and Zelienople.
