Davidson announces $625,000 in state grants

HARRISBURG, Oct. 7 – State Rep. Nate Davidson, D-Cumberland/Dauphin, today announced $625,000 in state grants to three local park projects.

All three projects are funded by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program Grants. The program intends to build connections between Pennsylvanians and the outdoors by supporting recreational improvements, natural resource conservation and community revitalization efforts.

Negley Park in Lemoyne will receive $375,000. The City Island Master Site Plan will receive a $150,000 grant, while the Capital Area Greenbelt South Harrisburg Acquisition will receive a $100,000 grant.

“The Capital Region is unique because our community is so closely connected to the natural world,” Davidson said. “From the mountains and rolling hills on the horizon to the green spaces along the Susquehanna, investing in our environment means directly improving our neighborhoods. These grants will help protect that natural beauty while ensuring the Capital Region remains a great place to live, work and raise a family.”
