Davidson delivers $25,000 grant to East Pennsboro Fire Police to boost community safety

ENOLA, Jan. 7 – State Rep. Nate Davidson, D-Cumberland/Dauphin, today presented a ceremonial check for $25,000 to the East Pennsboro Fire Police, providing critical funding to support the organization’s public safety efforts. The check was presented to Captain Brian Fenerty during a ceremony at the unit’s headquarters.

The East Pennsboro Fire Police play a vital role in fire and emergency operations across East Pennsboro Township and surrounding communities. This state grant is designated for the purchase of traffic control equipment and personal protective equipment, helping volunteers stay safe and visible while managing high-risk incident scenes.

"The East Pennsboro Fire Police are the backbone of community support during emergencies, managing traffic and ensuring safety at incident scenes and community events," said Davidson. "This grant is a direct investment in the safety of our neighborhoods, equipping these dedicated volunteers with the tools they need to continue their essential work."

Capt. Brian Fenerty accepted the funds on behalf of the department, noting that the new equipment will greatly enhance the operational capabilities of the volunteer team.

Key Impact of the Funding
The grant will allow the department to modernize its resources in two primary areas:

  • Traffic Control Equipment: High-visibility signage, flares, and barriers to protect first responders and motorists.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Specialized gear designed to keep fire police officers safe from environmental hazards and traffic during all-weather operations.

"This funding ensures our volunteers have the gear they need to return home safely after every call," Davidson added.

The presentation was held at 10 a.m. at the East Pennsboro Fire Police headquarters, 230 N. Enola Drive, showcasing the strong partnership between state government and local volunteer organizations.
