In case you missed it, I announced two grants going to two great projects in our District!
$25,000 will help the Peffer Street Pollinator Garden to rise from the ashes and be more vibrant than ever! This isn't just about restoring the garden, it's about restoring our community's spirit and belief in each other. Together, we will roll up our sleeves, get our hands dirty, and work to see the first blooms and celebrate the rebirth of our pollinator garden.
$500,000 will go to the Broad Street Market for repairs to the stone building, new insulation, heating, and air conditioning!
These improvements mean a safer, more comfortable experience for both our fantastic vendors and every customer who walks through those historic doors, no matter the season. It’s an investment in fresh food access, local businesses, and the heart of Harrisburg. This is truly a win for vendors, customers, and our entire city!
A big thank you to Governor Shapiro and Secretary Redding for believing in and investing in the future of our market.
Let's look forward to seeing these positive changes that will help ensure the Broad Street Market continues to thrive for generations to come!
