“This month’s virtual town hall, featuring students from the school districts of the 150th Legislative District, focused on the subjects of civics education, the role of government and real-world implications stemming from government policy,” Webster said. “My interactions with local youth continually prove to me how energized and interested in civics so many of our students are. I enjoyed providing a platform for further dialogue from a student perspective on a subject that touches all of us in various ways.”

Webster said the discussion highlighted ways civics education impacts and adds value to our lives and how being an engaged and informed citizen is crucial.

The event featured students from Norristown, Methacton, Perkiomen Valley and Spring-Ford high schools, as well as Jamie Mogil from the League of Women Voters, AP U.S. Government teacher Cathy Ladson from Methacton High School, and Debra Ciamacca, a former high school teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching AP U.S. History and social studies.

The virtual town hall also was streamed live on Webster’s Facebook page, facebook.com/RepJoeWebster.
