$120,000 in state funding headed to South Whitehall Police for equipment

HARRISBURG, Jan. 13 – State Rep. Mike Schlossberg, D-Lehigh, today announced that South Whitehall Township Police Department will receive $120,000 in state funding to assist with training and equipment needed for public safety.

Schlossberg played a key role in securing the funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

“Residents today expect law enforcement officers to handle challenging situations with the best training and equipment to ensure safety for both officers and the public,” Schlossberg said. “South Whitehall Township officials and police leaders have shown a strong commitment to equipping officers to protect our communities, and I’m proud to support these investments with state resources.”

Schlossberg regularly collaborates with local officials to ensure communities in Parkland and Allentown receive vital resources.

“South Whitehall Township and our Police Department are dedicated to providing officers with the best equipment and training,” said Police Chief Frank J. Lombardo. “This state-of-the-art equipment, along with virtual reality training, will enhance officer safety, reduce the need for use of force, and promote positive outcomes during police-citizen interactions.”
