Sanchez announces committee assignments for 2021-22 legislative session

HARRISBURG, Jan. 11 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, announced today his Pennsylvania House of Representatives committee assignments for the 2021-22 legislative session.

They are as follows:

Sanchez served on the Appropriations, Local Government and Policy committees during his first term in office (2019-20 session), while the Health and State Government assignments are new for him.

“I am encouraged by these assignments, and I am very much looking forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to help the people of Pennsylvania, local businesses and municipalities push forward during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and political unrest,” Sanchez said. “These committees, I feel, are a great fit for me, and I am confident in our collective ability to achieve progress for the greater good of the commonwealth.”

Sanchez, who graduated from Villanova University and Temple Law, was first elected to represent the 153rd Legislative District in 2018. Before joining the legislature, he worked as a certified public accountant, an attorney, an adjunct professor of law at Drexel University and served as a commissioner for Ward 7 in Abington Township.

He has also served his community as a board member of the Inter-Faith Housing Alliance of Montgomery County and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Jefferson Health.
