Sanchez announces $120k for new community park
UPPER DUBLIN, Sept. 17 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, today announced that a $120,000 state grant is being awarded to Upper Dublin Township to create a community park.
The grant funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
Upper Dublin Township has owned Twining Valley/Upper Dublin Golf & Fitness Club since 1981 and these funds will be used to convert the existing golf course into a vibrant new community park, according to Sanchez. This project will focus on establishing a network of multi-purpose trails for pedestrian and bicycle access. Existing golf cart pathways will provide the outline to the new trails with a variety of new and innovative recreational features. The total project cost is $1,495,784.
“This new park will certainly be an asset to the 153rd District and help bring our community together,” Sanchez said. “I’m thankful that Upper Dublin Township is receiving these funds, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact the park will have for residents of all ages.”
