Rep. Ben Sanchez August 2, 2019
UPPER DUBLIN, Aug. 2 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, today announced that Upper Dublin Township will receive $1 million in state funding to go toward the community’s new library project. The funds will be coming from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is a highly competitive grant.
This is the second award that Upper Dublin Township has received to support the transformation of the 520 Virginia Drive property into a public library. With the addition of these funds, the new library project has been awarded a total of $1.75 million in state grants. In September 2018, the project was awarded a $750,000 Keystone grant.
“I am very excited to see this funding come through to aid in the creation of this magnificent new space being created for the Upper Dublin community,” Sanchez said. “This impressive library will be a valued destination for years to come thanks to the hard work of everyone involved and a welcome addition to an already stellar community.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
