Rusnock: $1.5M secured for Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department

HARRISBURG, July 17 – State Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock announced today that the Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department received $1.5 million in grant funding from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

The funds will go toward constructing a new Exeter Township Emergency Services building. The current site is vacant with intent of constructing a one-to-two story building. The fundamental components include a fire station with apparatus bays and associated storage, kitchen/dining areas, showers/bathroom, sleeping quarters, and more.

"Our volunteer firefighters put themselves in danger every day to protect our communities. They deserve a facility that gives them the resources they need to do that job safely and effectively,” said Rusnock. “I was proud to work with state and local partners to advocate for this funding, and I'm excited to see this project move forward for the benefit of our incredible first responders and everyone they serve."

The state’s RACP funds design, acquisition, and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects that have a regional impact and generate substantial increases or maintain levels of employment, tax revenues or other measures of economic activity.
