Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock September 25, 2025 | 2:41 PM
BERKS, Sept. 25 – State Rep. Jacklyn Rusnock will host a free community shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11 at Muhlenberg High School, 400 Sharp Ave., Reading.
“I’m looking forward to connecting with residents of the 126th District as we safely dispose of old, sensitive documents,” said Rusnock, D-Berks. “This is a great opportunity to shred outdated bank statements, medical records, or personal files. We’re here to safeguard your privacy and protect your information.”
Residents are invited to bring any unneeded personal documents that contain sensitive identifying information, such as Social Security numbers, banking information and credit card applications, to be shredded for free.
Shredding important documents helps prevent identity theft and protects personal information from falling into the wrong hands. Documents containing Social Security numbers, bank information, or medical details can be misused by thieves to steal money, run up credit card bills, or commit crimes under someone else’s name.
Residents should note that this event cannot accept electronics, plastic bags, binders, ledger books, cardboard, X-rays or binder clips.
