Let’s be clear: Pennsylvania cannot fill in the gaps of federal budget cuts. Trump has imposed hardship that will move ALL OF US backward, regardless of social class. But I’m here in Harrisburg dedicated to working with my colleagues to try and save what we can for the betterment of all in the commonwealth.

The 14^th Annual Back to School Event is BACK, and Pre-registration is LIVE through Aug. 4! This event serves students in grades K-8 from schools within the 96^th and 49^th legislative districts within the School District of Lancaster, Manheim Township School District, Hempfield School District and Penn Manor School District. Students will receive FREE clothing, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, reading books, haircuts and MORE! My staff will also be available to answer questions about state-related matters. I had a wonderful time enjoying the July 4^th fireworks at Penn Medicine Park and a free evening of family fun.??

A special shoutout to Supernova for being a fantastic cheerleader and fanleader for the Stormers.

Thank you, GM Mike Reynolds and events coordinator, Marco Serour, for having me and giving me the opportunity to talk about FREEDOM and the responsibilities that come with it.

Our greatness as a nation lies in our freedoms we enjoy as citizens. But freedom is not a permission to live without responsibility. It’s not about doing whatever you want.

It’s a call to meet the responsibilities of what it means to be an American, where all are created equal.

First and foremost, American freedom calls on us to take responsibility for each other’s welfare.

It’s up to us to ensure that the flame of American freedom continues to burn bright by caring for our neighbors, our communities, our commonwealth and our nation.

May we always be worthy of the liberties we enjoy.

SPEEDing Up the Construction Permit Process

It was a pleasure to support the Dept. of Environmental Protection’s SPEED program, which streamlines and expedites the common construction permit application. PA Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Jessica Shirley, my colleague Rep. Fiedler from Philly, and our Senate colleagues worked together to keep Pennsylvania moving at the state of business.
