PA Department of Environmental Protection

public hearing on the expansion of I-80

and its effects on creeks and drinking water in Monroe County

Wednesday, Sept. 24

5:30-7:30 pm

Monroe County Public Safety Center
100 Gypsum Road
Stroudsburg, PA 18360

This is your chance to offer input on PennDOT's continued destruction of our creeks, wetlands and drinking water in Monroe County. Please do not sit this one out!

Representatives from the Monroe County Conversation District, PennDOT, and DEP will be present to accept public comments on stormwater management in Pocono Creek and tributaries (that’s water running off the construction and roadways and into the creeks) and exceptional value wetlands (areas being paved over and rebuilt in Wayne County).

Rep. Tarah Probst invites the public, and especially waterways experts, to register to speak by sending an email to Maria Occasion at mocasio@pa.gov or to Rep. Probst’s office ASAP at RepProbst@pahouse.net.

PennDOT’s Chapter 105 permit application and full stormwater plan can be viewed at MCCD or the Wilkes-Barre DEP office.

For more information, click here or call Rep. Probst's office at (570) 420-2850.
