I am proud to share that Pennsylvania has enacted the 2026–27 state budget—a budget that delivers meaningful investments for families, schools, workers, seniors, and communities across the Commonwealth, all without tax increases.
This budget reflects our commitment to responsible government and ensures that taxpayer dollars are invested where they matter most. It strengthens public education, supports affordability, improves public safety, and provides the resources our communities need to thrive.
One of the biggest victories for our region is the continued investment in our local schools. The 2026-27 budget provides:
- $6 million in increased funding for the East Stroudsburg Area School District
- $2.6 million in increased funding for the Stroudsburg Area School District
- $214,000 in increased funding for the Delaware Valley School District
These investments help our schools provide students with the resources, opportunities, and safe learning environments they need to succeed.
This budget delivers many victories for Pennsylvania families, including:
- No broad-based tax increases — protecting taxpayers while continuing to invest in the services and programs communities rely on.
- Historic continued investment in public education — including increased funding for schools, special education, school safety, and student support programs.
- More support for our students and educators — helping schools provide stronger opportunities for every child and supporting the next generation of educators.
- A stronger focus on school safety and student well-being — including investments in mental health resources, violence prevention, and safer learning environments.
- More affordable living for working families — including efforts to provide tax relief, strengthen consumer protections, and address rising costs.
- Support for affordable housing opportunities — helping families, seniors, and working Pennsylvanians find and maintain a place to call home.
- Investments in public safety and first responders — ensuring law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel have the resources they need to protect our communities.
- Support for local jobs and economic growth — including workforce development, career and technical education, apprenticeships, small businesses, agriculture, and innovation.
- A commitment to seniors, veterans, and retirees — recognizing those who served our communities and our Commonwealth.
- Targeted retirement Cost-of-Living Adjustments (COLAs) for eligible public servants who dedicated their careers to serving Pennsylvania. The retirement COLA provisions apply only to:
- Police officers and firefighters who retired at least five years ago; and•
- Public school employees and state employees who retired before July 2, 2001.
These adjustments recognize the dedicated service of individuals who spent their careers protecting our communities, educating our children, and serving the people of Pennsylvania.
There are many victories in this budget—from stronger schools and safer communities to investments that help families manage everyday costs. This is what responsible governing looks like: making smart investments, delivering results, and ensuring Pennsylvania remains a place where families can build a future.
Thank you for the opportunity to represent you in Harrisburg. I will continue working to deliver results for our community.
