My office can help you with unclaimed property and more

Speaking out about I-80 expansion

Thank you to everyone who joined the recent public hearing held by the Department of Environmental Protection regarding the detrimental effects that will occur to the greater Stroudsburg area if PennDOT continues on its current path of expanding I-80. We remain committed to making sure community voices are heard and that the impacts on our schools, neighborhoods, and environment are fully considered.

You can read a story about the hearing here and you can read more about my opposition to the project here.

PA might have your unclaimed property

The PA Treasury is holding billions of dollars in unclaimed property, and some of it could be yours. Unclaimed property is any financial asset that has been left with a bank, insurance company, business, or organization without activity for five years. Contact my office or visit Pennsylvania’s unclaimed property website here to see if there is unclaimed property waiting for you.

Delivering for you in Harrisburg

On the budget front, this week the state House of Representatives for the third time, passed another 2025-26 budget that does not raise taxes and sent it to the Senate. We’re still waiting for them to compromise so that our school districts, nonprofits, law enforcement and municipalities can be properly funded.

My House colleagues and I passed important bills that will help our neighbors and improve our communities.

We protected consumers by requiring disclosure of flood-related risk factors during the homebuying process (HB 1704); requiring companies that collect personal information electronically to take steps to protect that data from breaches (HB 997); establishing the Landslide and Sinkhole Insurance Program (HB 589); and giving consumers rights when it comes to their personal data and requiring certain businesses to protect consumer privacy and limit the collection of consumer data (HB 78).

We protected workers by allowing them to collect unemployment compensation benefits if their unemployment is due to a stoppage of work because of a labor dispute (HB 145).

We’re supporting safe school infrastructure by creating a school facilities inventory within the PA Department of Education (HB 1701).

We’re modernizing our state liquor laws and supporting businesses by allowing businesses with liquor licenses to have premixed cocktails on tap, just like beer (HB 1702).

Around the District

I’ve been busy around the district celebrating America250PA, enjoying the Latin Gala at Mt. Airy, Pickle Fest in East Stroudsburg and Harvest Fest in Akenac Park, honoring those who served our country at the Women Veterans Museum banquet, touring the expansion of MCTI, and recognizing fire companies in Bushkill Township and Marshalls Creek.
