Women’s Expo a huge success!

Another incredible Women’s Expo is in the books as we had over 50 vendors and a fantastic turnout. Thank you to all the organizations that came to provide information about their services. A huge shout out to my wonderful staff and Rep. Maureen Madden’s for working so hard. I was happy to have the opportunity to meet and speak with so many of you. Can’t wait for next year’s!

Working on the state budget

At the state Capitol in Harrisburg, my House Democratic colleagues and I continue to fight for the needs and prosperity of all Pennsylvanians and this budget season is no different. I’m working toward improved investments into education, raising the minimum wage, and investments into maternal health.

Cutting taxes for veterans and more

A bill that I authored to provide more veterans with access to the Disabled Veterans’ Real Estate Tax Exemption Program recently was approved by the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee.

The House also voted to:

  • increase Pennsylvania’s minimum wage.
  • require the state Attorney General to review any deal where a health care facility is bought or sold.
  • prohibit ticket resellers from charging fees above 5%.
  • allow veterans to count their service toward a teacher certification.
  • require insurance coverage for blood pressure monitors for home use within one year of the delivery or end of pregnancy.
  • support outdoor recreation and local economies by repealing the Sunday hunting ban.
  • provide a two-year window for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to seek justice and file previously time-barred claims.
