Pashinski and Flynn: $800,000 secured for two Wilkes-Barre street improvements

WILKES-BARRE, Jan. 21 – Transportation and roadway improvements are coming to two streets in Wilkes-Barre thanks to new funding of $800,000 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority, state Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski announced today.

Pashinski said that the grant, secured under the Multimodal Transportation Fund, will support streetscape improvements along both North Main Street, with funding of $500,000, and South Main Street, with funding of $300,000.

“These transportation dollars will make a real difference for families, commuters and local businesses who rely on our roads every day,” said Pashinski, D-Luzerne. “By investing in critical roadway improvements, we’re enhancing safety, reducing congestion, and ensuring our infrastructure can support our community well into the future. I am always thankful to my colleague, Sen. Marty Flynn for his help in acquiring this funding. I would also like to thank Gov. Shapiro and his administration for recognizing the importance of these projects and ensuring they are funded for our community.”

“These CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund grants help move transportation projects forward in communities across the district. I’m proud to support funding that strengthens street, sidewalk and roadway improvements while improving safety and access for residents,” said Flynn.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.
