McNeill releases statement in support of House passage of H.B. 350

HARRISBURG, June 23 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill offered the following statement regarding today’s House passage of H.B. 350, a bill on which she is a co-prime sponsor:

“It is critical that we have clear guidance on how to establish legal child-parent relationships to help facilitate family stability and judicial consistency. Unfortunately, this guidance is missing in our current statutory law, resulting in the creation of a roadblock that could stand in the way of Pennsylvania’s children and families.

“Passing House Bill 350 in the House means one step closer to this becoming enshrined in law. One step closer to a framework of clear parameters in support of the parent and child relationship.

“As the chair of the House Children and Youth Committee, the level and quality of support that children in Pennsylvania and their families receive is very important to me. Oftentimes, these can be the deciding factor of whether a child is successful or not. I was proud to stand with my colleagues today to vote in support of Pennsylvania families.”
