Samuelson, Miller announce $92,581 in LSA funding for Hanover Township

HARRISBURG, May 20 – State Rep. Steve Samuelson (D-Northampton) and state Sen. Nick Miller (D-Lehigh/Northampton) announced a $92,581 Local Share Account grant for Hanover Township was awarded today by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.

The grant for the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Co. will go toward the purchase of 30 Motorola APX 8000 Portable Radios and 14 APX 8500 Mobile Radios. The radios will enhance communication among the command staff and with agencies like the County Emergency Management Department and PA State Police during emergencies in Hanover Township and surrounding areas.

“The volunteers at the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Co. are protecting our community at all times,” said Samuelson. “These new radios will make sure they have the latest technology as they respond to emergencies.”

“The grant announced today is vital for our emergency services and play a crucial role in protecting the residents of our county,” said Miller. “I take pride in having championed the project to secure this essential funding during National EMS Week, ensuring that our local emergency services have the necessary resources to perform at their best. Whether responding to a major incident or a minor one, our emergency personnel act swiftly and effectively to save lives, and it’s important that we continue to support them.”
