Donahue to host spring paper-shredding event

MOSCOW, May 6 – State Rep. Kyle Donahue will host his spring shredding event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 10 at the North Pocono Middle School Parking Lot, 701 Church St. in Moscow, PA.

The shredding event provides an opportunity for members of the community to safely dispose of documents containing personal information, thereby protecting them from potential identity theft.

"Over time, individuals tend to accumulate a substantial amount of paperwork and mail, which can become difficult to organize and store," said Donahue. "This shredding event provides a valuable opportunity for community members to securely dispose of documents they no longer need. It also helps ensure that sensitive information is properly destroyed, reducing the risk of it being accessed by unauthorized individuals."

Donahue noted that the documents that are often disposed of are financial statements, canceled checks, income tax information, insurance and medical records, retirement and pension records, and more. All staples and paper clips must be removed and there can be no more than two boxes of paper per household.

Donahue and his office staff will also be available to assist with state programs and services.

The event is for households only. No paper will be shredded for businesses.
