HARRISBURG, Feb. 27 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski is pleased to announce a $103,781 grant allocated for the implementation of a mid-block pedestrian crossing over East Northampton Street (Route 2007) at Giant’s Despair/Heritage Park in Laurel Run Borough.
This critical funding aims to enhance pedestrian safety and improve accessibility in the area.
The grant, which comes through the state’s initiative to improve infrastructure, will fund the design and installation of a needed pedestrian crossing. The project is expected to create a safer environment for both residents and visitors.
“This grant will make a meaningful impact on the daily lives of those who walk along this stretch of road,” said Pashinski. “Improving pedestrian safety is essential, and this funding will ensure that our community remains connected while also keeping pedestrians safe.”
The new mid-block pedestrian crossing will not only provide a safe and designated path for pedestrians, but it will also help reduce traffic congestion and enhance the overall quality of life in the region. The project is part of Pashinski’s ongoing efforts to support infrastructure improvements and prioritize the safety of local communities.
“This is a win for Laurel Run Borough, and I am proud to be able to bring this vital funding to our community,” Pashinski concluded. “Together, we can continue to build a safer, more connected future for all.”
