I-95 Construction to Restrict Tacony Street in Northeast Philadelphia
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur.
- Southbound Tacony Street is reduced to one lane between Bridge Street and Van Kirk Street through late 2027 for Interstate 95 construction in Northeast Philadelphia.
The work adjacent to Tacony Street includes demolition and reconstruction of I-95 structures and construction of a long retaining wall to support I-95 widening of northbound I-95. The activities are part of PennDOT’s ongoing I-95/BS2 project that will reconstruct I-95 in both directions between Margaret Street and Carver Street.

Resurfacing Operations State Highways in Philadelphia
- Thursday, September 24, and Friday, September 25, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, the ramps on the U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Route 63 (Woodhaven Road) interchange will be closed and detoured. During the closure, drivers will be directed to follow the posted detour signs.
- Wednesday, September 30, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, the ramp from Interstate 95 North onto Allegheny Avenue (exit 25) will be closed and detoured. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use the ramp onto Aramingo Avenue (Exit 26), Aramingo Avenue, and Westmoreland Street.
