Review health coverage options

Many federal health insurance tax credits will expire at the end of this year unless Congress acts, so it’s important to review your options. In what was unaffordable situation before, it will now only get worse. It is expected that many health coverage rates on Pennie will jump 82%.

Pennie, authorized by the Federal Government as the state’s health insurance marketplace, said it is expecting changes for enrollees in 2026 and remains committed to helping Pennsylvanians find affordable, high-quality health coverage, although with these Federal changes it will become more difficult. Click here to learn more.

The Pennsylvania Insurance Department is also hosting free, in-person informational sessions statewide to answer questions and help you prepare for Open Enrollment.

Take action to keep SNAP benefits

Federal changes to SNAP benefits may require some recipients to report work, education, training or volunteer hours to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. If SNAP recipients are not meeting this requirement, they will be limited to three months of SNAP benefits for a three-year period.

Details about who needs to act, and when, can be found on the PA DHS website.

Do you need prescription assistance?

Pennsylvania’s PACE and PACENET programs help qualified residents aged 65 and older access prescription medications at a lower cost. These programs work alongside Medicare Part D and other drug plans – such as those offered through retiree plans, employers, Medicare Advantage, and Veterans’ benefits – to reduce the out-of-pocket costs for your medications.

For more information about these programs, you can visit this website or you can contact my office.

Unclaimed property

The PA Treasury is holding billions of dollars in unclaimed property and some of it could be yours. Unclaimed property is any financial asset that has been left with a bank, insurance company, business or organization without any activity for five years. Contact my office today or visit patreasury.gov to see if there is unclaimed property waiting for you.

Attending the New Bethany 2025 Souper Day Lunch

I was honored to attend New Bethany’s 2025 Souper Day Lunch. My colleague, Rep. Steve Samuelson, and I presented New Bethany’s Marc Rittle with a citation from the House of Representatives to officially recognize this marvelous organization’s 40th anniversary.

Here’s to many more years of New Bethany serving those who are in desperate need of help.
