McClinton, Yeadon PD celebrating $138K state grant

Funding will be used to improve public safety in the borough

HARRISBURG, May 9 – State House Speaker Joanna McClinton, D- Phila./Delaware, is applauding a state grant for $138,000 being awarded to Yeadon Borough Police Department to invest in the borough’s public safety strategies.

“Our law enforcement officers have a tough job to do, and they need to have the right tools to keep our communities safe,” McClinton said. “I was proud to partner with the Yeadon PD to help them secure this state funding that will contribute to the overall public safety in our community.”

“With Speaker McClinton’s help, the Yeadon Police Department was able to garner this much-needed grant to improve our police fleet, improve our body camera system, and continue to pursue police accreditation,” Yeadon Borough Police Chief Henry Giammarco said. “We’re grateful for the Speaker’s partnership and her help in securing this funding, which will help us fulfill one of her pledges, ‘better communities’.”

Yeadon’s grant was awarded by the state Department for Community and Economic Development.
