My 2025 Wrapped, Happy New Year, and Grant Opportunities!

My 2025 Wrapped

Over the past year, I worked hard to deliver meaningful results for our district through passing good legislation, Black maternal health advocacy, and dedicated constituent service.

I was also proud to have one of my bills signed into law, the Pennsylvania CROWN Act. This landmark legislation protects Pennsylvanians from race-based hair discrimination in our Commonwealth. I also helped secure $13.5 million in grant funding for our district, supporting vital local projects and investments that strengthen our communities – this brings our district total to over $50 million since 2023.

Serving residents remains at the heart of my work. My office handled 17,462 constituent cases, helping our neighbors, residents and families navigate state-level services. We also completed 410 property tax and rent rebate applications, securing more than $250,000 in relief directly back to our neighbors. In the legislature, I remained engaged and active by sponsoring 25 bills and co-sponsoring 442 others, working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the needs and priorities of the people I have the pleasure of representing.

I am honored to serve as your State Representative, and I look forward to delivering even more for the 24th Legislative District in 2026!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from me, my District Office Staff, and Harrisburg Staff! I look forward to the New Year ahead. As a reminder, our office remains closed through Thursday, January 1, 2026, and we will re-open on Friday, January 2 at 9 a.m. You can leave a voicemail at 412.665.5502 or email RepMayes@pahouse.net, and my staff will respond as soon as we return.

Raise the Wage in PA

To build an economy that works for everyone, we need to make sure that people get a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

As of last year, roughly 47,000 working Pennsylvanians were earning minimum wage or less, and approximately 255,000 working Pennsylvanians were earning near the minimum wage, ranging from $7.26 to $12.00 per hour. That’s 300,000 Pennsylvanians barely making ends meet.

Corrupt billionaires and special interest conspire to keep PA’s workers tied for dead last in America on pay day – until now: It is time that we call out Senate leadership for their inaction on any of the minimum wage increase bills that we have passed in the house.

You can send a message on your behalf to your state’s Senate leadership here. Thank you for your action. We are stronger together.
