Rep. Malagari applauds regulatory directions of Department of Education
HARRISBURG, Aug. 14 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, offered the following remarks after Tuesday’s news conference hosted by Gov. Tom Wolf.
Wolf announced plans to reform charter schools in Pennsylvania by addressing accountability, cost, transparency, fairness and quality.
Malagari applauds all of the regulatory directions of the Department of Education.
"We have two great school districts, North Penn School District and Souderton Area School District,” Malagari said. “I am very firm on holding charter schools accountable. We need to ensure that the state has adequate oversight measures in place so that charter schools operate with transparency to taxpayers.
"We all care about educating young Pennsylvanians so that they are primed for tomorrow’s economy and job market. So, let’s make sure that all of our educational establishments are doing the best job they can, and that they are accountable to the public.”
