Daley announces $900,000 in state funds for community projects

HARRISBURG, Jan. 21 – State Rep. Mary Jo Daley, D-Montgomery, today announced that $900,000 in in state funding was approved for infrastructure projects in the 148th Legislative District.

“Investing in infrastructure is an investment in the future of Lower Merion Township,” Daley said. “Safer streets and upgraded water systems not only protect public health, they also support local growth and create communities where people want to live, work and raise families.”

Funding from the Multimodal Transportation Fund includes:

  • Lower Merion Township

Sidewalk Installation Program

    • Pedestrian safety improvements along four roadways, $400,000.

Funding from the Small Water and Sewer program includes:

  • Lower Merion Township
    • Sanitary sewer lining and manhole rehabilitation, $500,000.

The grants were approved Tuesday by the Commonwealth Financing Authority from the state’s Multimodal Transportation Fund or Small Water and Sewer program.
