Isaacson announces $5.5 million state investment across 10 local projects

PHILADELPHIA, July 17 – Today, state Rep. Mary Isaacson announced that $5.5 million from the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will go toward 10 different projects throughout her district.

The RACP, funded by the Commonwealth’s Office of the Budget, provides funding for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

Projects funded by the program are:

  • $2,000,000 to the Delaware River Waterfront Corp. for construction of the Penn’s Landing Park Pavilion.
  • $1,000,000 to Historic Philadelphia Inc. for full reconstruction of the 12,500-square-foot playground at Franklin Square.
  • $500,000 for significant renovation to Superfit Inc.’s manufacturing and headquarters operations.
  • $500,000 to Monell Chemical Senses Center to build a transformative life sciences hub to support advancements in public health research and community programs in science, health and well-being, in the North Broad Corridor.
  • $500,000 to Philly House to expand its dining hall and free meal services.
  • $250,000 to the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corp. for construction costs of a mixed-use project on 11th Street.
  • $250,000 to revitalize the former Folk Arts-Cultural Treasures Charter School into a K-8 educational campus.
  • $250,000 to the Independence Historical Trust for a stone structure interpretation of the “Join or Die” cartoon by Benjamin Franklin across from the Liberty Bell Pavilion.
  • $125,000 to address infrastructure issues at Arch Street Meeting House.
  • $125,000 to the Ministry of Awe to redevelop the historic Manufacturers National Bank.
