Hill-Evans announces $589,000 in grants for projects within her district

HARRISBURG, Oct. 9 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, announced today that state grants totaling $589,000 were awarded to support projects in her district.

These grants were awarded through the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Community Conservation Partnerships Program, which seeks to connect Pennsylvanians with the outdoors by supporting recreational improvements, natural-resource conservation and community-revitalization efforts.

Grants affecting the 95th Legislative District include:

  • $300,000 to Spring Garden Township for the development of Windsor Park.

  • $214,000 to Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, Inc. for Urban and Community Forestry projects, including tree planting and building local tree stewardship capacity in Chester, Cumberland, Lancaster and York Counties.

  • $75,000 to the York County Rail Trail Authority to perform a trail study on the area that would need to be developed to connect Hanover Trolley Trail and Heritage Trail.

“I want to thank DCNR for their commitment to investing in our parks and their efforts to preserve and create green spaces here in the 95th Legislative District, York County and across our commonwealth,” said Hill-Evans, chair of the State Government Committee. “This funding is an investment in the quality of life and long-term vitality of our community, and I’m excited to witness their impacts for years to come.”
