Hill-Evans announces $6.7 million in RACP grants for local projects

YORK, July 21 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, announced that $6.7 million from the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will go toward four different projects in her district.

Funded by the Commonwealth’s Office of the Budget, RACP provides funding for the design, acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

Projects funded by the program are:

$1,700,000 to Central Market York for revitalization and expansion.
$1,000,000 to Keystone Kidspace to fund a portion of the hard construction costs at its York Armory location.
$2,500,000 to Spring Garden Township for preparation and construction of its state-of-the-art, single-story emergency services facility.
$1,500,000 to York County Industrial Development Authority towards the exterior and interior construction of the former Zion Lutheran Church to create a modern event space.

“I’d like to thank the Commonwealth for this critical investment in our communities,” Hill-Evans said. “Every one of these projects represents conversations with local leaders and advocates who ensured that these projects receive the investments they deserve. I am proud to have done my part in securing these funds for the people of York County.”
