Rep. Hanbidge Announces More Than $1.6 million in new local grants

State Rep. Liz Hanbidge, D-Montgomery, today announced that more than $1.65 million in state funding has been awarded through the state’s Local Share Account Program to benefit five projects across her legislative district.

The grants awarded include:

• Lower Gwynedd Township: $609,690 for improvements to Oxford Park in Lower Gwynedd Township.
• North Wales Water Authority: $200,000 for a water main replacement project along Sumneytown Pike in Upper Gwynedd Township.
• Towamencin Township: $300,000 for an interceptor replacement project in Towamencin Township.
• Upper Gwynedd Township: $414,460 to purchase a street sweeper for use in Upper Gwynedd Township.
• North Wales Water Authority: $126,400 to purchase two public service utility vehicles to be used in Warrington Township.

“This funding is an important investment in our communities and will help move forward projects that have been needed for years, from critical infrastructure repairs and improvements to projects that enhance community safety,” Hanbidge said. “I look forward to seeing these investments translate into tangible improvements for residents across our region. I am proud to work alongside my legislative colleagues to advocate for the resources our communities need and to ensure state funding comes home to make a meaningful difference for the people we represent.”

The Local Share Account Program is funded through revenue generated by gaming and is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects that enhance economic development, public infrastructure and community vitality.
