Hanbidge announces over $200,000 for Eastern Center for Arts and Technology

Today, state Rep. Liz Hanbidge announced that the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology is receiving $216,090 from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s Schools-to-Work Program.

The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology School-to-Career Grant project will help students from eight participating districts develop a continuous path to employment and growth in heating and cooling, carpentry, electrical technology and welding technology careers by placing students in related workplaces during high school through co-op educational opportunities.

“I am thrilled to announce more than $200,000 in state grant funding coming into our district to support workforce growth and opportunities,” Hanbidge said. “These investments will help ensure that the next generation is prepared for careers and employment after high school.”

The STWP aims to support businesses by creating skilled workers. The program encourages partnerships among schools, employers and organizations to create a path for students to enter the workforce.
