PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 10 – State Rep. Jose Giral, D-Phila., applauds the state’s investment of nearly $1.6 million in manufacturing training and apprenticeship programs that will serve Philadelphia County.
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry announced the grants as part of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s commitment to strengthening the state’s workforce. In Giral’s district, grants include:
“This is a clear investment in our future workers and therefore an investment in the families and young people who live in our communities,” said Giral. “When we support the growth of skilled workers and technical education, we ensure more people have a pathway to success. I’m proud to see this infusion of state funding bolster and expand the great apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs we have in our area.”
Giral is a member of the Pennsylvania House Labor & Industry Committee and an advocate for workforce development.
Each organization selected to receive funding went through a competitive process. Funds were distributed through the Supporting PA’s Advanced Manufacturing Sector grant program.
