Deasy bill to display veterans benefits in the workplace signed into law

HARRISBURG, July 8 – Legislation to ensure veterans in the workplace have better access to benefits and services has been signed into law by Gov. Josh Shapiro, announced the bill’s prime sponsor, state Rep. Dan Deasy, D-Allegheny.

“This is really about making sure veterans know where to turn for resources they’ve earned while serving our country,” Deasy said. “Whether they need help accessing benefits, support for their families, or just a connection to local resources, this will point them in the right direction. It might seem like a small change, but it can make a big difference for someone who needs it.”

Act 31 of 2025, formerly H.B. 799, requires employers in Pennsylvania with more than 50 full-time workers to display a poster with veterans’ resources in a common area or on a company website accessible to employees. The poster will include:

  • Contact and website information for the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
  • State and federal benefits and services available to veterans and their families.
  • Contact information for county directors of veterans’ affairs.
  • Details about the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Crisis Line.

The poster will be developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and provided to employers through the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry.
