Curry: Nearly $1.4 million awarded for sewer and rehab projects

UPPER DARBY, Sept. 16 – State Rep. Gina H. Curry, D-Delaware, today announced nearly $1.4 million in state funds were awarded to four projects in her district of Delaware County.

The grants awarded include:

  • $700,000 for the Darby Creek Joint Authority to rehabilitate a portion of the sanitary sewer system in Lansdowne.
  • $300,000 for the Phase II renovation of the Historic Lansdowne Theater.
  • $276,173 to replace the roof and HVAC system of the East Lansdowne Administration Building and Community Center.
  • $100,000 to clean and inspect the storm sewer in Millbourne.

“My team and I are always working diligently to bring state funding to our district and ensure that improvements like these keep our systems running smoothly,” said Curry. “In addition to the sewer improvements, I’m excited to see the Lansdowne Theater continue its renovation and for the East Lansdowne Community Center to get these much-needed upgrades.”

The grants come from Local Share Account funds which are approved and distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
