Curry, Kearney to host shredding and safety event

UPPER DARBY, Aug. 10 – State Rep. Gina H. Curry and state Sen. Tim Kearney will host a free shredding and safety event from 9 a.m. to noon (or whenever the truck is full) Saturday, Aug. 20 in the front parking lot of Upper Darby High School, 601 N. Lansdowne Ave., Drexel Hill.
Residents are invited to bring a maximum of three boxes or grocery bags per household. Newspapers, magazines and journals will not be accepted. All shredded paper will be baled and recycled.
“By shredding unnecessary and old documents, you can protect yourself from identity theft,” said Curry. “Please join us for this community event and keep your private information out of the wrong hands.”

Curry for this free community shredding and safety event,” said Kearney. “It’s a great opportunity for people to properly discard any sensitive or confidential information, get organized and have peace of mind while doing so. Being able to provide this free, convenient service not only helps our constituents, but it also helps our environment.”
This event is rain-or-shine. Staff will be on hand to give out information about safety issues and answer any state-related questions. In addition, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office will be there with its Drug Takeback Van for residents who want to safely dispose of unused, unwanted and expired prescriptions.
