E-Blast: Upcoming Blood Drive

PA Representative Gina Curry banner image

Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,

Next week, I will return to Harrisburg for the official start of the state budget season. I’ll be in Harrisburg weekly throughout June as we work toward passing a state budget that works for you.

On Thursday, June 5, I invite you to give back to your community at our spring Blood Drive, hosted in partnership with state Senator Tim Kearney! The American Red Cross will be welcoming donors to the East Lansdowne Borough Hall Community Center from noon to 5:00 p.m. To make the process faster, please register here in advance.

We have some lovely weather headed our way this weekend! I wish you and yours a relaxing, fulfilling end of May.

Summer Office Hours

As a reminder, my district office is closing at noon on Fridays now through September 4. Please stop by during our usual hours, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or before noon on Fridays. You can also call to leave a message at 610-259-7016 or send a note through my website, Rep. Gina H. Curry | Contact Me.

The Future of Healthcare

Last week, I joined many of my PA House colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman Center for “The Future of Healthcare,” an event hosted by UPenn, Penn Medicine, and Representatives Friel and Kosierowski. We heard from top experts and pioneers in healthcare, biotech, research, and policy.

The state of our healthcare system is a huge issue here in Delco, and meetings like this bring together bright minds to address the challenges our communities face. I’m grateful to my fellow representatives and to Penn for putting this together!

Focus on Maternal Health

I recently attended the Clinton Foundation’s “Maternal Health Innovation: Programs and Policy to Improve Outcomes” event. It brought together maternal health providers, legislators, foundations, and others to address the maternal mortality and morbidity crisis.

Here I am with Virginia’s Governor Abigail Spanberger, another staunch advocate for maternal healthcare!

Memorial Day in our Community

On Monday, I had the honor of attending several Memorial Day services in Lansdowne and East Lansdowne. From Lansdowne’s Veterans Landing to Penn Wood High School to East Lansdowne, each event was a dignified reminder of the sacrifices members of our community have made to keep us safe from harm. Thank you for your service!

Please enjoy these selected photos from all three events.

A District on the Rise

Earlier this month, the William Penn School District celebrated national recognition in the 2025 Education Recovery Scorecard as a “District on the Rise” in mathematics growth.

I joined Representatives Joanna McClinton, Senator Tim Kearney, and Senator Anthony Hardy Williams in celebrating this achievement at the school district’s press conference. We reflected on the teamwork, advocacy, investment, and belief in students that helped drive strong growth, and highlighted the important work that still lies ahead.

Together, we will continue working to ensure every WPSD student has the opportunities, support, and resources they deserve.

Celebrating our AAPI neighbors

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Delco AAPI Heritage Festival at Naylor’s Run! When we celebrate the culture of our neighbors, we embrace our community. What a great day celebrating Asian American culture and heritage with dance, music, art, and food!

Thank you to George J.S. Choe, President & CEO of the Jaisohn Center/Philip Jaisohn Memorial Foundation.

Fighting for better care for preeclampsia

Congratulations to Starlita Kilpatrick and the Preeclampsia Foundation team on raising close to $50,000 at the Greater Philadelphia Promise Walk for Preeclampsia at the Navy Yard. I had a wonderful time meeting advocates for the cause, speaking with Susan Yablon, the mother of former walk organizer Melissa Weinberg, and hearing remarks from Spencer Yablon, Melissa’s brother.
