Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,

We’re less than a week away from our Youth Activities & Resource Fair! Last year’s event was a huge success, and I’m excited to bring it back for you again this year!

Programs covering STEM, sports, arts, music, and more will be represented! As a sneak peek, here are a few you can expect to be there:
- Upper Darby Arts & Education (Summer Stage, Musicman, Butterfly Buddy)
- Young Men & Women In Charge
- Cheng’s Martial Arts
- Urban League
- Upper Darby Police
- Athletic Teams
- And more
Our youth are the future of our communities! I hope to see you there.

Droppin’ Jewelz Women’s Empowerment Awards
|
Last week I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon aboard Philadelphia’s historic Moshulu, celebrating Women’s History Month with the Jewelz Foundation. The Jewelz Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting the awareness and prevention of teen pregnancy, domestic violence, human trafficking, and homelessness.
The Women’s History Month event, their Droppin’ Jewelz Women’s Empowerment Brunch Gala, brought together community leaders of all kinds. I was honored to be presented with their Global Civic Impact Award. In the lower right hand photo above, I'm standing with Kendra Hall, founder of Droppin' Jewelz and organizer of the event.

Governor launches survey to hear from women
|
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women is gathering input from women across PA via a new digital survey as part of the Shapiro Administration's forthcoming State of the Woman Report, a comprehensive, data-driven effort to assess the status of women across Pennsylvania.
The report will build on PA’s inaugural 1966 Report on the Status of Women and the most recent report from 2004, examining the progress women have made over the last 60 years and identifying the gaps that still exist. The report will combine historical analysis, current data, and firsthand experiences from women in rural, suburban, and urban communities to provide a comprehensive picture of the current status of women.
Women: Click here to take the survey.
The survey is open through May 30
