Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,
|
|
Last Sunday, SEPTA’s planned route cuts went into effect. My House colleagues and I tried five times to get funding passed so that we wouldn’t get to this point – but the Senate didn’t pull through.
Below is a summary of the route changes that impact Legislative District 164. If you commute outside of our district, be sure to visit septa.org to see how other routes you use may have changed.

Policy Hearings in Erie, PA
|
This week I traveled to Erie at the invitation of the Erie Delegation for two regional economic development tours and roundtables.
On Monday, we toured Sassafras Pier at Presque Isle Bay. Then the Delegation hosted a legislative roundtable discussion.
|
On Tuesday, we visited the Behrend College at Penn State Erie and toured the engineering school. After, the Erie Delegation held a roundtable discussion of manufacturing competitiveness. I’m aways so grateful to learn from my peers and to see how things are changing in their districts!
|
In observance of Labor Day, my office will close at noon today, Friday, August 29, and all-day Monday, September 1. We will reopen as usual at 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Next week we also return to our usual full-day Friday hours!

SNAP Eligibility Could Change September 1
|
The passage of the federal “Big Beautiful Bill” included changes to work requirements that could change whether you’re eligible for SNAP benefits, and these changes go into effect on September 1.
DHS has noted that you’ll be notified before changes to your SNAP benefits are made, and is working to find out how states are being instructed to enact the changes in the federal bill.
Keep an eye out for communication from DHS, visit the DHS website for ongoing information, or call 800-692-7462 for more information.

Blood Drive presented by Rep. Gina Curry and Sen. Tim Kearney
East Lansdowne Borough Hall
We highly encourage people living with sickle cell disease to donate blood at this drive – donor blood for individuals living with sickle cell disease is in limited supply, making it harder for those with the disease to get emergency medical care.
