Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,
|
|
Happy Independence Day!
As we celebrate American independence today, may we take a moment to reflect on what freedom truly means for all of us. The promise of liberty and justice is not a finished story, but a living commitment we must uphold together.
At Team Curry, we are grateful for the vibrant, resilient communities of the 164th Legislative District. Your voices, your courage, and your care for one another remind us that the work of freedom is collective, and that a more just and inclusive future is always worth striving for.
Wishing you rest, reflection, and joyful connection this holiday weekend.

Upper Darby Summer Stage Turns 50!
|
Last weekend Upper Darby Summer Stage celebrated its 50th season, and I had the great pleasure of attending their anniversary celebrations. Over the years Summer Stage has impacted so many of you, and our community as well – it’s part of the vibrant arts community we’ve created in Upper Darby! Thank you to its founders, for creating such a fantastic theater program, to Upper Darby Township for providing scholarships for UD School District students to join, and to Summer Stage, for being a place our youth can spend the summer connecting, creating, and inspiring.
|
Saturday, I joined Councilwoman Danyelle Blackwell for our Fourth Saturday Morning Cleanups in the UD 4th District! We collected two bags of trash and made sure to recycle all the plastic and glass bottles we found. Join us on the fourth Saturday in July for our next 4th District cleanup. Let’s keep our parks and playgrounds clean this summer!

Delaware County Black Caucus Annual Gala
|
Last week I had the honor of attending the 7th annual Delaware County Black Caucus gala, an event held each year to honor our rising stars and community service. DCBC's mission is to be a leading voice for the Black community in Delaware County, fostering unity and driving impactful change through strategic initiatives.
We're pictured here with Joe Cuff, a coach and social worker with the William Penn School District, who received the Community Service Award for his work with food insecurity and student athletes and developing the Rap Athl-EATs resource pantry in the school athletics program, as well as Yumeno Young who received the Community Impact Award. Joe Williams was also honored this year.
Congratulations and thank you to all of the 2025 honorees!
